11/15/2018

Mississippi Conference early response teams (ERT) recently provided aid in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael at five sites in Lynn Haven and one site in Panama City, Florida. Making landfall October 10, Hurricane Michael was the first category 4 storm in recorded history to make landfall in the Florida Panhandle. Property damage is estimated at more than $4.5 billion in Florida and Georgia.Composed of members from Eupora, Wesley-Ocean Springs, Gulfport First and Long Beach First United Methodist churches, the ERTs cleared down trees around homes, tarped a roof and mucked out a home. The Mississippi Conference Disaster Response Team has committed to dispatch ERTs the first weekend of every month for six months to Florida and Georgia.
