Director of Youth Ministry


 First United Methodist Church, Batesville, Mississippi, an active, multi-generational congregation in northwest Mississippi is seeking a person of high character with a passion and calling for youth ministry.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (post-graduate degree or progress toward a post-graduate degree is preferred), experience in youth ministry leadership, a strong personal faith and a commitment to the doctrines of The United Methodist Church.
It will be the responsibility of the director of youth ministry to:
(1)    Report to the senior pastor and work as a cooperative team member of a strong and supportive church staff.
(2)    Oversee the youth ministry of the church, and direct its mission and vision.
(3)    Assist in the implementation of a sustainable plan for the youth ministry in conjunction with the youth ministry team and adult volunteers.
(4)    Spiritually prepare the youth of First United Methodist Church for challenges ahead in young adulthood and nurture in them a clear Christian identity through and understanding of God-given gifts and talents.

First United Methodist Church of Batesville, is a vibrant congregation located in the Panola County Seat, approximately one hour south of Memphis, Tennessee, and a half-hour west of Oxford, Mississippi (Ole Miss).

An average Sunday morning consists of two worship services (a traditional and blended service), Sunday School classes for all ages and approximately 300 persons participating. Our mission statement is:
